50 homes, built for the seniors who built this community

Friendship Senior Housing sits where the Friendship Christian Center once stood, at the corner of Adeline and Chestnut in West Oakland, across from the West Oakland Public Library and a short walk from De Fremery Park. It is CHDC's first faith-based collaboration, built alongside Friendship Christian Center to create housing for extremely low-income seniors, including neighbors who have experienced homelessness.

The building includes a community room, kitchen, computer room, lobby, parking, and a shared courtyard, and was designed with solar power and rainwater harvesting so it runs lighter on the community it serves.
